Week #25 - Baby Boy #2 Adventure

Week 25!

Size of baby? Rutabaga (from head to butt) which is about 13.5", about 1.5 pound. (Okay, interesting enough... babycenter.com has said the baby is 1.5 lbs for two weeks now... and at my ultrasound this week they measured the baby's weight to be about 1.75 lbs! So I must be growing a giant!)
Total Weight Gain? AHHH! 13 pounds this time, per the doc. A 5 lb gain in one month! EEK. She said that jump was larger than average but that 13 pounds overall is on the low-to-average side. Okay I guess that is okay... but I need to stop the giant jumps in weight!

Maternity clothes? Yes.... but I need some more pants!

Sleep? Pretty good overall but I'm sleeping really light. The slightest noise wakes me up.

Best moment this week? Seeing the baby at the ultrasound!! He was so cute. He even waved his hand right across the screen like he was saying "HI"! However at the ultrasound we found out the baby has a kidney that has been blocked and it grossly swollen (called hydronephrosis) and they don't expect it to work after his birth. :(

Food cravings? Burger and Fries.

What I miss? Feeling energetic enough to be social. Wine. (this really doesn't change ever!)

What I'm looking forward to? this baby being born!! Starting to get uncomfortable.

Milestones: Passed the "heart test" to make sure this baby wasn't born with heart problems (like his big brother was)... However heard other sad news, see above.

What's next?: A really hot August! Nothing too exciting planned. My early Sept appt will test me for gestational diabetes, praying I pass that nasty test.

Emotions: Have started really planning things like a registry. Starting looking at nursery decoration ideas.

Symptoms: Achy body... sciatia nerve pain has gotten better (knock on wood). Mild swelling in my feet.

From babycenter.com:
How your baby's growing:

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
